Child-friendly campaigns are essential to promote child rights

KATHMANDU, September 13: Regarding Children's Day, the Child Friendly Local Government National Forum has completed a national workshop. The forum has organized a workshop to effectively promote and establish the concept of child-friendly local governance.

In the program organized in the presence of more than 70 people from all seven provinces including representatives of government agencies, development partners, social organizations, campaigners, Gauri Pradhan, the former commissioner and spokesperson of the National Human Rights Commission, said that a safe environment for children is comfortable for all age groups, but an environment focused on other age groups may not be safe for everyone. He also said that it is necessary to increase investment in children. 

In the program, the under secretaries of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Resham Kadel and Janakraj Sharma, respectively, presented the concept of child-friendly local governance and the state of implementation of the child-friendly local governance implementation guidelines and declaration procedures. He also expressed commitment on behalf of the ministry to carry forward the child-friendly campaign effectively.

Haribol Acharya, a member of the forum, conducted the program under the chairmanship of Tilottam Paudel, the coordinator of the forum and the president of Jagruti Bal and Yuva Sarokar Nepal.
