Baidya-led NCP (R) cadres smear Kansakar with soot

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Nepal Communist Party (Revolutionary) led by Mohan Baidya on Friday smeared Managing Director of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) Sugat Ratna Kansakar with soot.

Cadres of Revolutionary Youth League, youth wing of CPN (R), barged into Kansakar’s office at 4 pm and smeared soot on his face for his alleged involvement in the irregularities in the procurement of the wide body aircraft for the NAC.

Producing the report on Thursday, the parliamentary sub-committee had recommended due action against those including MD Kansakar for their involvement in the wide body scam.

Lawmakers from the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) on Friday questioned over the credibility of the report produced by the sub-committee under the Parliament's Public Accounts Committee which concluded that over 4.35 billion was embezzled in the procurement of wide-body aircraft for the NAC.
